Installs but crashes when you start it and tell it you are an existing Quicken user (even when "Run as Administrator" is used).

The Intuit web site states that Quicken 2007 has been tested on Vista and there are no Know issues.
This is NOT true, the software works in some instances but for all intents and purposes on my system it doesn't work at all.
Details:
Quicken intstalled on my Windows Vista Business edition withoug incident.
Quicken requires registration and the registration process fails consistently.
Since I cannot register, I cannot go on-line to my financial institution.
Quicken 2007 REFUSES to remember the current file and every time I start Quicken, I must tell it manually and specifially which file to open.
Attempts to backup using the Quicken softwqre the backup fails saying that it cannot open the source file.
I am sure there are MANY other apects of the program that also do not work properly under Vista, but the above listed ones are enough to prevent me totally from trying to use the system.
I contacted Quicken chat support and they stated clearly that Vista was not supported but they were working on it. I pointed out that the Intuit web site said that Quicken 2007 was OK for Vista and they said no it is not.
The cannot/willnot help and I'm told I have to wait for developmental changes.
As of this moment, Quicken 2007 does not work (for me) in a Vista Business environment amd Intuit is of absoulutely no help in making it work. It seems to me that their "testing" under Vista may have consisted of showing the Vista box to the developers and little if anything more.

Using Quicken 2007 with Vista Ultimate -- same problem others are reporting with Quicken not recognizing existing stored Quicken files and starting each new session as "New User". Worked absolutely fine with VISTA RC1, but when I got full retail install of new Vista Ultimate, this problem arose and has persisted for nearly a week.

When I am logged on as a standard user, I experience the same problems as others here. I have to tell it that I am already a Quicken user, thatI have a data file on the PC, and then tell it where the file is located.
When I try to update my accounts using One Step Update, the "Quicken Launcher" crashes, and that's all she wrote. It looks to me that Quicken cannot run properly as a standard user, and instead requires the logged on user to be an admin.

Windows Vista Ultimate. Quicken 2007 is very quirky. Do not under any circumstances apply the R4 patch on Vista Ultimate. After it takes 20 full minutes of spinning(!) - on a 3ghz machine with 2gb ram(!) - the very first download from your bank results in need to accept downloaded transactions, but none appear in the register to accept(!) Worse, either the R4 update or the initial conversion of your 2006 files to 2007 format corrupts your c:\users folder's security settings, all the way down through all the hundreds of subfolders. The R4 patch you can manually download has exactly the same problems as the automatic one.
The only safe way and I don't know how safe it really is, to use 2007 with Vista Ultimate is to take a system checkpoint, install 2007 WITHOUT accepting the R4 patch, convert your 2006 files, then restore the system checkpoint (to get your security settings back), then uninstall 2007 completely, then reinstall it WITHOUT the R4 patch.
Good luck.

Using Quicken Premiere 2007 with Windows Vista Ultimate and, like others, the launcher fails and that's it. Cannot restore previous files nor convert. In short, Intuit blew it by not making thier software XP compatible and now we pay the price; Not ready for prime time.

Premier 2007 Quicken by Intuit installed and ran nicely on Windows XP but when trying to install on Windows Vista the installation stalled after what seemed like "almost" completing and indicated "not responding" to where it was necessary to cancel the program. It then would not allow the removal, recovery or anything else. Does anyone know of a fix?

Doesn't install at all using Vista Basic. Hangs on update. Installation process doesn't enable you to bypass update.

Windows Vista Premium has made my Quicken 2007 program useless. Even when I start the program with "run as administrator", I get the start up menu and have to go through an install. Then it refuses to take updates even when I save the web connect file to the desktop and import. With Windows XP, neither of these problems occurred. Luckily for me, I have an old, slower computer with XP so I can continue to use my Quicken. Hopefully, this will get resolved by 2008, and I can then switch to my new computer. I am not impressed with the quality of help given by Intuit either over the phone or with the online chat. Since these problems are so pervasive, you would think they would have been able to come up with a fix by now, or at least inform the user that this is a problem that many users are having.

I have the same symptom mentioned previously: unable to print at all to an HP printer with Quicken 2007 and Vista Ultimate 64-bit. The paper feeds into the printer and then hangs indefinitely with nothing printed.

Yes, Quicken print under 64-Bit Vista initializes the printer, but just sits there. No amount of printer setting twiddling gets it going. I have the problem, but don't yet know the solution. Yes, Quicken support bites the big one.

Everything was fine with Quicken 2007 on Vista until it wanted to download an update (always the kiss of death, it seems). Now I can't open it, re download it, or uninstall it. It's a mess.

I had quicken 2007 DeLuxe installed in my computer with windows vista home premium. It was working OK. My Hard drive crashed. I purchased a new computer and I tried to install the Quicken into it. At first it was going in, then when it asked to be Up-dated, I clicked on that. That killed the program from completing the installation. It gets stopped from installing. The wizard stops it. I tried to uninstall and it will not remove whatever has been installed. I tried Quicken clean and it doesnot work. I tried to follow all kinds of the removing processes and nothing seems to work. Looks like I am stuck without the Quicken program. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Pet.

I been using Quicken 2007 Deluxe on Windows XP and when I loaded it on my new computer With Vista Business it does not open at all. I have contacted Intuit and have got nothing but a run around. I can't even talk to a human. They say to go on line, fill out an unbeleivable amount of repetitive questions and they will return your call in ten minutes. They sent me and email saying they tried to call me but got no answer.
I have callwaiting and caller ID and there were no calls from them. So, the only conclusion I can come to, is that they have no idea how to fix the problem but they do know hos to strecth the truth. I am thinking of trying MS Money. Does anybody know if I can transfer my Quicken 2007 data to MS Money or if MS Money will operate on Vista

Helping a friend here with this one. She was using the Quicken 2007 Deluxe when an automatic update window popped up asking to upgrade or patch the program. After clicking yes and allowing the update to run she returned to find the program inoperable. Checking I found the start-up qw.exe file to be missing from the computer. Vista unistall of Quicken starts but does not complete and seems to disappear into limbo or something. Using the original disk yields options to modify, repair or unistall, none of which will work. Right now I am at a loss as what to do.

Ijust spent an hour trying to get the install of Quicken 2007 premier working on my windows vista ultimate 64 bit OS.
First, after installing Quicken, immediately update to release 5. In my install I did this outside the application choosing to manually download the release and then right click "run as adminstrator". You can get a list of releases from quicken through this link:
https://quicken.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/quicken.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4370\
After sucessful update to R5, i was prompted to register the product. This is where the problems began. I would enter my ID and Password and then try to update. When I clicked "finish" quicken crashes. I then noticed that i was getting a webpage popup upon finshing my registration. Make sure to check IE for the quicken prompt page. If you dont go to the IE page Quicken just hangs waiting for a response from you.
I had the idea to reset my password. Upon doing so, i was able to register without a hitch.
Hope this helps someone.

I purchased a new computer with Vista Home Premium. My old computer was running on Windows XP. I purchased the Vista-XP Transfer cable, and transferred all my files using this process. It was long, but efective. I then used a beta program for the cable to transfer compatible programs. Among others, Quicken 2007 transferred effecively.
I could run Quicken 2007 smoothly, to include downloads from banks and credit cards. Then without warning, when I tried to download financial data, it quit accepting the data. When I go to the bank or credit card, I get a Quicken Install window, which eventually stops and ask for the Quicken 2007 CD, looking for the Quicken 2007.msi file. Since I updated quicken 2006 to 2007 online, I don't have the install CD. Of course, the Quicken 2008 CD does not work.
I am unable to download financial date directly, which is a pain in the _ _ _! I can always print transactions and then manually enter them into the files, but, let's get real!!!
I do believe that I had a Quicken Window Update, and I accepted the update. Perhaps that's what th problem is.
