I had the same problem with the white screen covering about 1/2 of the menu.. I also have a ATI radeon graphics card, basically the card is too powerful for this older game, you need to turn down the performance lvl a bit. that worked great for me!

I just installed the v.1.3.1 patch and i when i first start it has a white screen covering up about 7/8 of the menu. I can go thrue and play the game it just I cant pick where i want to hunt and what equipment i want.
