Gigabyte Brix review: compact mini PC @ Hardware.Info

If Intel can do it, so can we, Gigabyte must have thought. Okay, Gigabyte won't be making processors anytime soon, but when it comes to compact PCs and especially motherboards we have full faith in Gigabyte. Intel has the Next Unit of Computing (NUC), and Gigabyte now has released its interpretation of the compact PC with the Brix.

Measuring 11.4 cm x 10.8 cm x 3.2 cm, the Gigabyte Brix will even fit in the palm of your hand. It's thinner than the Intel NUS which is 3.9 cm high.

EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SuperClocked review @ Guru3D

In this review we peek at the EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC (SuperClocked) edition. This model graphics card comes with a factory overclock and their new dual-fan ACX cooler with. Overall the card is sitting in-between the GeForce GTX 680 and GeForce GTX 780, with its 1085 MHz core clock frequency. We look at the hottest latest games including Grid 2 and Metro last Light, we'll do some FCAT testing as well.

But first things first, we take a closer look at NVIDIA's new GeForce GTX 770. The GeForce GTX 770 is a top of the line segmented graphics card. It uses a familiar GPU though, yes the very same GPU as the GTX 680 actually. That makes it a chunk faster, alongside a clock frequency and memory increase it will be priced aggressively, that in a nutshell, my friends, is the new GeForce GTX 770. We test the product with the hottest games like Metro: Last Light, Battlefield 3, Sleeping Dogs, Far Cry 3, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Hitman Absolution and many more.

Metro: Last Light Review @ Techgage

The Metro series tells the story of its protagonist Artyom, a man who is trying to survive after a nuclear holocaust in the only habitual place left on earth, the Metro tunnels under Moscow. The first game took many gamers by surprise, not only for its graphical requirements but also because the game stayed true to the books with its very typical Russian ending. This was unfamiliar to many gamers and some felt uncomfortable with how dark the ending was (if you chose that route) – but it’s not atypical of Russian literature.

Metro: Last Light is just as dark, however; Artyom is now haunted by the events that took place in Metro 2033 and is somehow given a chance to be redeemed for his actions. Artyom joined the Rangers in the first game, which hail from a Metro city called Polis. From there, they are dispatched to other Metro cities that might be overwhelmed with local problems, like outbreaks of infection or being overrun by the beasts that now walk the surface, that they cannot handle themselves. Thus, they try to be neutral in the affairs of the Metro stations on a political level.

Inno3D is a brand that's fairly new to us. We recently reviewed the Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 660, and today it's time for the iChill GeForce GTX 780. It's a GTX 780, but not just any one. The iChill has a huge cooler and is significantly overclocked, which gives it Titan-like performance for a 780-like price. Inno3D expects it to be slightly more expensive than a dime-a-dozen 780, around € 669 you'll have to pay for the Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 780.

Trendnet 1750Mbps Wireless Router & AC Networking @ BCC Hardware

A few years ago networking was pretty stale. Gigabit wired networking was the pinnacle of achievement for consumers and small offices and 802.11n had reached a maximum capacity of 300-450Mbps theoretical throughput. There was nothing exciting going on so companies decided to once again try powerline networking. This filled a gap that allowed better ranges and still decent throughput using the wiring in your building. Still, it was nothing all that groundbreaking. Recently the introduction of 802.11ac networking has prompted some excitement however. This new networking standard uses the 5GHz band and is backwards compatible with the 802.11n 2.4GHz band. This means that a 802.11ac network should work with all of your older 2.4GHz equipment, but at the same time offer you a lot more performance if you have compatible hardware.

The specifications show that we could see wireless speeds of over 1Gb per second (in a multi-station environment) but we should be able to see single-link speeds of up to 500Mbps. Of course this is all still theoretical speeds, but we are seeing some claims that certainly exceed the boring 450Mbps speed on a dual-band 802.11n network.

Cooler Master NotePal U2 Plus Laptop Cooling Pad Review @ Proclockers

We have been reviewing a lot of laptop coolers here at Pro-Clockers and our database is somewhat dominated by Cooler Master products. Many of them are from the NotePal models. Just recently we had the NotePal ErgoStand II on the spotlight. Many of these products we tested have added features that made them more than just a laptop cooler. For example we have the ErgoStand II which has an adjustable overall height. The feature made the laptop more comfortable or to conform better as a media device.

Genius X-G510 Gaming Mouse Review @ Neoseeker

Shop around at any e-tailer or computer store and one name which probably does not come to mind first when it comes to gaming peripherals is Genius. Amongst the all Logitech, Cooler Master, and Razer products on the market, Genius is a brand that hasn't had much light in the mainstream consumer market. Ironically, Genius actually has a history that goes far beyond those of both Logitech and Razer.

Established in 1983, Genius is a sub-brand of KYE Systems, a company that focuses mainly on OEM products for partners such as HP, Asus, and Acer. Funnily enough, KYE Systems has manufactured Logitech peripherals in the past. Genius is KYE's independent brand, featuring products ranging from mice and keyboards, to graphic tablets and IP cameras.

Today, we will take a look at the Genius X-G510 gaming mouse. Like many other mice, the X-G510 features adjustable DPI, active profile switching, and programmable macros. Unique to this mouse is a soft-touch rubber finish and a vibrant blue "cracking" LED pattern on the surface.

Asus Z87 Gryphon and Armor Kit @ LanOC Reviews

After what feels like months of prepping, testing, photography, videos, and writing are finally reaching the end of our Haswell launch motherboard coverage and I think we may have saved the best for last. We haven’t covered one of Asus’s TUF Series of motherboards official although we do have one in our cooling test bench and we have seen countless boards in our reader’s rigs. So to finish things off we are going to take a look at Asus's new Micro ATX TUF Series Z87 Gryphon. Its smaller form factor is a first for the TUF line and I am very excited to see what the fuss has been about.
