Redmond wants to ensure IoT is not hampered by lack of communication

From V3:
Microsoft has joined another Internet of Things (IoT) industry group, the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIT), following hot on the heels of becoming a member of the AllSeen Alliance, an IoT outfit established by Qualcomm in 2013.

The IIT was formed by AT&T, Cisco, GE, IBM and Intel in a collaboration that also includes working with academia and government on the challenges the IoT revolution will replace.

Kevin Dallas, the general manager for IoT at Microsoft, explained in a blog post that joining both these groups was key as the development of the IoT sector needs close discussions between key firms.
