AMD's 2016 GPU doubles performance per watt

AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, has announced that the performance per watt of AMD's 2016 GPUs, the successor to the Fiji 2015 GPU, will double the performance per watt. Yes we are talking about the card that we exclusively revealed as Greenland.

Su, confimred all this in the conference call: "We are also focused on delivering our next generation GPUs in 2016 which is going to improve performance per watt by two times compared to our current offerings, based on design and architectural enhancements as well as advanced FinFET products process technology".

Best Of: Our favorite smartphones of 2015

We’ve reviewed plenty of smartphones over 2015 and got hands on time with many others. The good news is that, despite the sheer number of options out there, smartphones have become so good that it’s getting harder to pick something you’d regret. But at the same time there are so many good options that picking the right one for you can be challenging. We're here to help.

Cubot H1 Smartphone Review

The Cubot H1 belongs to the mainstream segment since it houses at its heart the MT6735 MTK SoC at 1GHz (and a total of four cores are available), is paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and the manufacturer has also included a 5MP frontal camera for selfies along with an 8MP sensor on the back which seems to produce good quality shots. The 5.5’’ HD display is covered by a 2.5D Arc Corning Gorilla Glass solution and we also get a handy notification LED along with an IR sensor for controlling different devices via ZaZa Remote Android application. However, none of these features are the main point of attraction for this model: H1 packs a massive 5200mAh battery which would allow the product to last up to four days in normal usage conditions.

Enermax ETS-T40F-BK Review

Today we will test the Enermax ETS-T40F-BK tower cooler on OCinside.de. You find countless CPU coolers, at the moment 310 of 675 total listed models have the so called tower design. This makes it hard for the consumer to choose the right one and for the manufacturer to stand out against others. We will check closely if Enermax achieved that with its model ETS-T40F-BK. In this cryptic label the F stand for fit and the BK for black, we will clarify what that means for you later in this review.

Gigabyte GA-X99-SOC Champion Sub-Zero Overclocking Review

The GA-X99-SOC Champion is Gigabyte’s overclocking-centric motherboard for the X99 chipset and is the choice of many professional overclockers and benchmarkers around the world. The board has an OC Socket much like the one that Asus’s Rampage V Extreme had when it came out, that allowed for high uncore/cache overclocks. This board with the OC Socket will allow you to achieve much higher uncore/cache speeds than you would get with a “normal” board. This feature will allow the user to really be able to gain some traction with their benchmarks and memory bandwidth. I found in testing that this will make a huge difference in your results, as we all should know, that will be the result of higher uncore/cache. The board handles sub-zero overclocking amazingly and it should, because it was built for it. If you are wanting to put your 2011-v3 CPU under extreme cooling, then this definitely looks like the board to get.

Mionix Zibal 60 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

No matter how many times we've thought about it over the years how rapidly the PC market can change is quite impressive even for us. Take keyboards for example, up until roughly 4-5 years ago every single person i know had been using membrane keys based ones for decades (like myself since the very early 90's) but in such a short time this has changed and so mechanical keyboards are now selling more than twice in number compared to regular membrane ones to professionals, gamers and enthusiasts alike. That's not all however and so although Cherry started it all with their excellent MX switches several years back (around three decades to be exact so it did take a while for the main consumer base to actually see them used in keyboards) the overwhelming demand allowed many manufacturers to make their very own models like Kailh (red/blue/black/brown), SteelSeries (QS1), Razer (green/orange), Matias (Quiet Click) and Logitech (Romer-G). Mionix has only released one mechanical gaming keyboard to date called the Zibal 60 and although it took quite a while for us to get our hands on it we finally did.

Mionix was founded in Sweden 2007 by Peter Nygren with the mission to create the world’s best performing and most ergonomic gaming mouse. We proved that a small dedicated Swedish clan could do this. And it was just the beginning... Today, our complete gaming range is crafted with the same level of innovation and attention to detail.

The Mionix Zibal 60 uses Cherry MX Black 18k gold plated backlit mechanical switches (60g actuation force and a lifespan of up to 50 million keystrokes) and unlike most similar models in the market it's not available with red, blue and brown ones. This is somewhat strange and will certainly disappoint some serious gamers since Cherry MX red switches offer a much better tactile feedback compared to their black brothers (always at the cost of extra noise however) but I’m certain that Mionix chose that path for a good reason (if i had to guess this decision was most likely taken to in order to reduce costs). Also since the Zibal 60 is not one of the latest mechanical gaming keyboards to hit the market instead of full N-Key rollover it features a 6-key rollover but since to date the maximum number of keys any of us here has ever used simultaneously is 5 i think that 6 although certainly not as good (at least not in terms of marketing) should be more than enough. The Zibal 60 also features three different lighting modes for its keys (On/Off/WASD) with three different lighting levels, two powered USB 2.0 ports, 3.5mm audio ports and a thick steel braided cord.

OS X El Capitan license: in plain English

I decided to upgrade my Mac to El Capitan, but my computer said, on one condition: I must “carefully” read and agree with something. It even provided a tiny cozy display window for viewing it. And so I did what anyone else would: I cleared my afternoon schedule and got right down to business; reading, carefully, the entire document. It turns out that I was much too pessimistic! I needed only 33 minutes.

SilverStone Tundra TD02-LITE Closed Loop Water Cooler Review

In the past half year or so, I have been looking to buy a car, as I am driving much more than I have in the past, and needed a personal vehicle in place of a shared one. If you remember my first article, the XtracGear Ripper review here at APH Networks, I am still looking for a car with the mindset that it should be practical. Since it has been a while since I have begun the search, one of my friends approached me about a month ago, and wondered if I was interested in buying his car. Hence, I responded with the typical questions of what kind of car it was, year, mileage, and so forth. He told me it was a 2007 Honda Civic Coupe EX with a manual transmission with 130,000 km on the odometer. The reason why he needed to get rid of it was because with a family and a kid, it is very hard to carry everything around in a two door compact. This certainly got my interest up, as I was looking to buy a car where I could also learn to drive manual transmission on. However, when presented the opportunity to buy a coupe, I had to consider if it was the most practical choice I can make. Will a coupe be worth giving up the sedan I currently drive? What is the implication on insurance costs? How can I get it home, considering I have never owned a manual transmission car? This is also what I thought when I received the SilverStone Tundra TD02-LITE water cooler. It is certainly newer than the Tundra TD02-E. With a reduced price, how well will it compare as far as practicality is concerned? Read on to find out!

Tauren Outdoor Bluetooth Solar Powered Speaker Review

Up for review today I’ve got a Bluetooth speaker from a company called Tauren and what sets this one apart from others is that it has a built-in solar panel for additional power while you’re on the go. It has a solar panel so obviously it’s a product that’s meant top be used more outdoors and it seems rugged and durable and they even include a carabineer so you can attach it to your pack while you’re out and about. The speaker can also be used as a speakerphone so you don’t even have to take your phone out of your pocket or pack while you’re hiking to take calls. Battery life isn’t the greatest at about four hours, but the solar panel will supposedly extend the playback time, but still four hours isn’t really much at all in my opinion. US Transportation Department To Require Drones Be Registered

The United States Transportation Department plans to announce their requirements on Monday around drone registration. In efforts to crack down on drone pilots that operate their drones in unsafe manners, the Transportation Department is looking to require all drone owners to register their aircraft to help track them. A task force will be formed next week to figure out the policy and the specifics around it such as how users will register, which drones will be included and how it will be enforced. They hope to have the policy in place by the end of this year, which is extremely fast for aviation regulations.
