Okay, another little addition to this.
If you manage to find yourself a zipfile of the game, then this can help you out if you located copied files but your original CD won't work anymore:
you need to type in X:\closecombat\setup\acmsetup /Z cchook.dll /T cc.stf /S X:\closecombat
where X is either your CD rom drive, or in this case, where you have the game located. IF you just unzip the folder into C:\closecombat, and then type in C where the X goes, you will have no problem.
(For people who can't find another copy of Close Combat but have the original, scratched disk)

Click START on your toolbar, then click RUN and type this in:
g:\setup\acmsetup /Z cchook.dll /T cc.stf /S g:\
(Note: I'm assuming you G drive is your CDROM, if your CDROM drive is different letter you need to replace the "g" with your your drive lette - make sure you modify both instances
at the beginning of the above mention string as well as the last one)
After this you can install CC1 patch...
After you install CC1 you need to run compatiblity utility as CC1 will not run on Windows 2000/XP.
