Corel Photo-Paint 6 gives a missing registry entry
error message 3 times when users attempt to run it on Windows 2000
Workaround:
1. Press Ctrl+Esc
2. Click "Search" --> "For Files or Folders"
3. In the box below "Search for files or folders named:" type "config"
4. Click the "Look in:" drop down list arrow and select "Local
Hard Drives"
5. Click
6. Look for the for "CONFIG" folder that matches the path where you
installed Photo-Paint and Right-Click it
7. Click "Properties"
8. Highlight the text to the right of "Location:"
9. Press Ctrl+C
10. Press Ctrl+Esc
11. Press r
12. Type "regedit" and Press Enter
13. Double-Click on "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
14. Double-Click on "Software"
15. Double-Click on "Corel"
16. Double-Click on "Corel PHOTO-PAINT"
17. Double-Click on "6.0"
18. Right-Click over right-hand column
19. Click "New" --> "String Value"
20. Right-Click over "New Value #1"
21. Click "Rename"
22. Type "GroupDir" and Press Enter
23. Double-Click "ConfigDir"
24. Press Ctrl+V
25. Type "CONFIG" and Press Enter
26. Press Alt+F4
27. Run Corel Photo-Paint again and Enjoy!
