I tried out running the game on WinXp with some different setups. In the game I had crashes occuring when entering different locations making the game unstable at best, so the workaround I picked up from another tread would be to install the game to the C:\ root in my system. Obviously not a fundamentally nice solution, but it works, and the uninstaller hopefully will pick away all the extras it stuffed in there.
