Use Windows 98 Compatibility mode to correct the choice of resolutions offered in the in-game Options -> 3D Device Settings page. It may also fail to run at all if Direct3D vertical-sync is disabled in the video-card driver settings (using a nVidia Ti4200 and Detonator 45.23 drivers)
