Adaptec's own USB drivers do not support SMP multi-processor systems under NT, Win2K or WinXP - and they state that no support is planned. The MS drivers work well, but do not support Adaptec's USB Control management utility.

V2.0 and V3.0 driver README file states "not supported for multi-processor systems". Attempts to use these Adaptec drivers result in frequent blue screens and/or serious corruption of the registry's SYSTEM hive. Some improvement with Microsoft USB2 drivers from Windows Update, but the hardware is really not recommended for SMP systems at present.
