I believe that the game tries to draw to screen when it is minimized this causes crash

When changing modes and windows after playing a video the game briefly flickers back out to the desktop thus causing a crash

I wrote a little home made patch to prevent this crash and get the movies to work in-game

For Final Liberation English version 1.1 only!

you might be able to download the patcher from:
http://www.aqrit.cjb.com

or you can apply the patch with a hex editor

OK forget all that epic.ini stuff and try this simple procedure, I spent ages trying to get this working then came across this gem.
instead of running it through desktop cut out the whole file, then simply paste it into the c:drive, run the game and bingo, Roberts yer fathers brother!

Worked Perfectly. Just create your own epic.ini file. See the Win2k solution for more details.

The file 'epic.ini' is created when the game is successfully run, if you do not have a Win9x partition to get a copy of this file from, then create it yourself then copy and paste the following:

MusicVol=100
FX_Volume=127
MV_Volume=127
UseGrid=0
DoVideo=0
WatchAI=0
AutoSave=1

(the file should be 100 bytes size including the final Return after AutoSave=1). Those settings are the defaults except for DoVideo=0 which was changed from 1 to disable the movies

This is not running at all. The ini file 'Epic.ini' does not exsist.
