Both the Retail or Trial versions of Microsoft Fury3 work fine under Windows 2000, with a couple of caveates.
Application compatibility mode or setwin95 must be applied to "Fury3.exe" to enable the use of a joystick.
Fury runs choppy under higher resolutions since it doesn't use hardware or DirectX compatibility. Switch to 256-color mode in 800x600 resolution for smooth play on a 500MHz. Faster machines (over 1.5GHz) can run Fury in higher resolution and color modes more smoothly, of course, but will still benefit from switching to 256 colors during the game (even with a GeForce3!). I recommend VidRes at http://www.jddesign.freeserve.co.uk/vidres.htm to automate switching video modes during games.
Sorry folks, I know this wasn't really a popular game even when it first appeared, but it is still my favorite. Probably nostalgia. If you never liked it, no hard feelings. But if you're like me and find yourself missing this one despite all the better, snazzier, prettier games that are available today, I hope this info helps you.
