Set the compatibility to Windows 98 / Millenium.
If you want to use the hardware renderer, then install a glide wrapper. I use this one: http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/
Works very well with Incubation.

Requires the ubiquitous compatability update. Didn't check in 3dFX mode, but ran fine with win95 compatability update.
