Using compatibilty mode "Windows 98" works fine under Direct3D mode, haven't tried the other modes, can't try 3DFX, because I don't have a 3DFX card.
(Note: Machine used was running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2 along with the obvious Compatibility patch, however - any version should be alright as long as it has the obvious compatibilty patches)

nitro.exe crashes just after loading.
