Oops! Ran the wrong result last time, i was referring to Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, which has a 16-bit installer. Outcast runs fine under x64, as does Jedi Academy!

rtm does not like JK2. I tried nvidia drivers and MSI drivers. Installed Directx 9a but the game crashes the OS needing a reboot. Maybe someone can post a workaround?

Received the follow messages:
1) System: AMD Athlon 1200, Asus V7700 Geforce pro v/ 64 mb DDR ram, and detonator drivers v/ 28.32
2) Works great!
Athlon XP1800+, 256MB PC2100 DDR,
GeForce2 MX
3) In Multiplayer mode: Beware games base on Quake III engine with dual AMD cpu's. JK2 will single play, but not multiplay without installing uniprocessor driver. As of 4-Apr-2002:
"Lucas Arts are currently researching this issue and hope to have a solution in the very near future. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience..."
4) Using Voodoo3 AGP under Windows 2000, screen would wash out mostly white after playing Jedi Outcast, but not any other game. Would have to change color depth and then change it back to get regular colors again. Lucas Arts says Voodoo3 under Windows 2000 is not supported, but if you buy the $7.95 WickedGL drivers (test the demo first), it works fine with no more washed out mostly white screen afterwards. Everything else works fine using DirectX 8.1 and Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.

It will work under NT 4.0 Service Pack 5, DirectX 3. It gives an error when loading, but then it installs completely. It won't start at all if you use the standard icon, though (C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars JK II Jedi OutcastJediOutcast.exe) - it blows up with a Dr. Watson. I used C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars JK II Jedi OutcastGameDatajk2mp.exe for Multiplayer and C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars JK II Jedi OutcastGameDatajk2sp.exe for Single Player and it starts and runs fine on PIII-866, Voodoo3 AGP, VIA 686 Sound chip on Acer AX34Pro motherboard. The sound works fine, even though the box says the sound needs DirectX 8.0a.
It's not supported by LucasArts, though.
