I have loaded MOO2 on my XP based machine and DO NOT use Dosbox. Instead, I went to every exe file and set it to win95 compatibility mode under Properties. I also set the memory allocated to it to 4 MB where ever it allows me to. Every once in a while my graphics messes up. When this happens, I save game (if I am able to) shut down, and restart the game. If this does not work after a couple of tries, I give up and come back later. 9 times out of 10 it will be back to normal.

If you using windows vista and it's not working use DosBox. Then use DosBox to run orion2.exe (not orion95.exe). You won't need any dplay.dll stuff.

I had to bring dplay.dll to make the program start with Vista.
It is still not working, it crashes after the selecting name and banner.

Problem: Installer never started (Autorun prog sdid start). Solution: Copied all files by hand to a CD; Problem: Orioncd.ini missing; Solution copied by hand from a XP-System. Used above mentioned dplay.dll -Y works very fine under "Windows Vista home basic, 64 bit Edition". (Geez - what a long product name)

once the Dplay.dll file was unzipped and placed into the Windows folder (directory) i had to adjust the color to 16bit instead of 32 bit. seems to work good after that.

The prompt came up saying the dll file was missing, so I downloaded and unzipped the file from the internet yet it still says the file is missing?

The generic dplay.dll was very helpful. It's working great in Vista Business right now.

If you search for the dplay.dll on the internet you can download it and put it in your windows directory. It should run in Vista after that.

This game won't run due to a missing dplay.dll, although it runs fine on Windows XP.

Works only when I turn DirectDraw acceleration off. For the Dos-Version of the game you will need a vesa-driver (VDMSound's built-in vesa-emulation didn't work well fo me).
