It didn't work immediately, but after I patched my kernel32.dll with a hexeditor, so that the GetVersionExW() function reports 5.1.2600 instead of 5.2.3790, I could use the software without any errors. So this software actually IS compatible with windows server 2003, I don't know why they disabled the possibility to run it on this OS.
