To get the modem to be
detected, you must first change the settings for one of you current com
ports to that of your modem. The settings for your com port may vary for
your modem. If you have windows 95 or 98 on another computer or the same
machine use 95 or 98 to find the settings. You can also try to find the
settings yourself by changing the comport settings and re-setting the
computer till Windows 2000 can detect the modem. Here are my settings:
Com port:3 IRQ:3 I/O: 03E8 - 03EF Also you may need to change your
"Bits Per Second" to "57600" or "115200"
All this can be access by going to "Control
Panel"/"System"/"Hardware" tab/"Device
Manager"button/"ports"/the port you wish to change. To
change the I/O and IRQ by clicking on the "Resources" tab. The
port speed by clicking on the "Port Settings" tab. To change
the port number click on the "Advanced" button under the
"Port Settings" tab. Also I have only had this work for Beta 3
(2031), It will not work for RC1
