As per the previous poster, I'm running XPSP2 all updated (Jan.2008)on a self-built PC with 1Gb Ram on an AMD 2400+
I tried this update as PCAlert 1, which came with the motherboard, MSI K7, was starting to cause problems (slow loading - crash on loading) and I assumed that this was because of a corrupt file.
The download zip file contains three folders and 3 instances of PCAlert.exe and no indication of which one is the correct one to install.
The old version has been removed and now this one doesn't work...

Running XP Pro SP2 with updates current thru 2007.02.20. This latest version of PC Alert (4.1.2.4) and an older version on the CD that came with the motherboard and that I'D INSTALLED PREVIOUSLY will not install. The .exe file seems to be a self-extracting type, two processes show up in XP's list (PC Alert 4 and setup.exe), but nothing happens beyond that. The installer can be launched multiple times resulting in multiple instances of the processes, but it never installs.
As I was able to install this in the past, it seems a Windoze update has broken this.
