Here's how to install the Visioneer One-Touch scanner in Windows 2000,
Windows XP and the new Windows Vista:
Please follow this step-by-step:
1. Download the 5300USB-WinXP driver file at "Driver-Guide.com". Save it
to My Documents.
2. Click on this file, and un-zip it. Run the 5300u.exe file. It will
create a 5300USB folder located here:
Windows---twain_32---paprport---5300USB.
3. Next, copy the "dll" files that came in the downloaded zip folder
into this 5300USB folder.
4. Windows 2000, XP and Vista have a Visioneer driver located in:
Windows---inf folder.
Copy and paste the "Visioneer.inf" file into the 5300USB folder.
5. Close all windows. Open the Control Panel---Device Manager.
Right-click on the Visioneer 5300 listed there, then click on
"Properties"...or Update/ Install Driver.
6. Navigate the driver wizard to the Windows---twain_32---
--paprport---5300USB folder.
7. The 5300USB scanner should install without a hitch.
You're done. Keep enjoying your 5300 scanner!

Works fine if you install it in NT first, then upgrade NT into W2K. Haven't tried installing inside W2K. Occasionally the Paperport icon (FBDirect.exe) will disconnect, just right click on it and choose Connect, it reconnects with no problem. Paperport software (in this case I use v5.3 come with my scanner) works OK, although receiving a message of not expected running in W2K, it still works.
