Problem:
RE2 creates blank savegamefiles on Win2k.
Solution:
download the Windows Application Compatibility Toolkit from microsoft.com and start RE2 with Win95 compatibility.
Now should the typrewriters work (at least they did for me).

Works, but you need to turn on 95 compatibility, else when you try to load a previously saved game you'll get a list of blank lines and a "Load Failed" message when you try to load anything.

Received the follow messages:
1) Installs fine, but cannot load any saved games.
2) The game appears to work fine, but saved games cannot be loaded.
