Received the follow messages:
1) The software will not install. Sony do not respond to emails requesting support. Supplied software crashes regularly under Windows 98.
2) OS sees the device when plugged into the USB port but doesn't install. Sony says that it doesn't work under 2000. There's gotta be a way to get it running..
3) After returning my walkman to Sony UK to be upgraded to be Windows 2000 compatible and installing the OpenMG software (selecting NW-MS9 as the device) it all works fine. I had to pay £40.85 for the service. (£22+VAT for upgrade, £12.75+VAT for OpenMG 2.0 CD). The walkman now reports to Windows 2000 as an NW-MS7A.
