You must install the Win2k Compatability Update from
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/tools/appcompat/default.asp and then reboot. For some reason windows update DOES NOT make all the compatability changes neccessary for some games.
Make a shortcut on the desktop to the setup.exe on the Star General cd and click "run in win95 compatability mode" on the compatability tab. Run the install from that shortcut. Don't forget to click the "run in win95 compatability mode" checkbox on the start menu game launch shortcut compatability tab also.
To play the game the CD must be in a CD-ROM drive. In my experience it will not work for playing the game in an SCSI CD-ROM (To play the CD must be in an ATAPI drive) though it will install from one.
