The game will not install in Win7 64-bit, probably due to a 16-bit installer. If you can gather the ROGUE folder from an installation on another computer you'll still need to export the registry keys for .
If that wasn't enough, the exported registry file, let's call it rogue.reg, has to be imported into for it to work. Notice that Wow6432Node was added. The easiest way I found to do this was to use a 32-bit file manager to import the .reg file. I used the free "A43" file manager.
Beyond that, it has the same end of level crash as reported previously.

Just installed regular versjon no update and didn't too anything. Just runned Rogue Squadron.EXE and it worked, even my joystick worked =) but had a crash on the game after the first mission, but 1.2 patch will work some thing up =)
I even didnt have any problem creating a pilot

Took some doing to get it to work. Found a patch(same one at Lucasarts.com, but that one wouldn't download). I found it at Tuscows or Tocows site? v1.2. patch. Then did some troubleshooting at the Lucasarts.com support. Had to move a glide2x file from sys32 out to a new folder. Also needed to adjust a video setting in the game. Finally got it working ok, and it's worth it too. :)

run "Rogue Squadron.EXE" instead of rogue.exe in order to get around the broken launcher (and it's faster too).
I fixed the pilot creation issues using the MS Application Compatibility Toolkit v3.0. Just create and install a fix using windows 95 settings and the game will work fine.

Received the follow messages:
1) It hangs when trying to create a new player but if you can get around that, it runs fine. Go to a win9x system and copy the created pilot info/folder onto your win2k system. Run the game a works great. Some minor restarts from time to time but nothing major. It seems to get better the more you run it.
2) The launcher doesn't work, but if you run Rogue Squadron.exe (in the program fileslucasartsrogue directory) the game starts fine. You also have to create pilots on another machine (W98) I couldn't get my joystick to work but keyboard and mouse are fine (V5/SBlive)
3) As others have advised, get a pilot file from a Win9x machine. My joystick (CH Flightstick Pro) doesn't work, either -- and neither does my mouse (Microsoft IntelliMouse optical). Technically, the game starts and "runs" and doesn't crash -- but, it's totally unplayable.
