dark omen will not crash and the background will not flicker
if you set the following registry values
open notepad and paste the following code
save as "darkomen.reg" with quotes
then double-click DarkOmen.reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
"SoftwareSelected"="228"
"Selected"="1"
Do NOT enable Color Cursors from the in-game menu as
this is what causes dark omen to crash
If you want Colored Cursors you can search the web
for the old cursors converted into *.ani format
Windows Vista: if you get an error message saying "D3DRM.DLL can not be found"
then copy "D3DRM.DLL" from the directX folder on the dark omen cd
to the "..\Dark Omen\PRG_ENG" folder on your hard drive

Screen flickering makes it imposible to play. In their help guide they explain all video problems as a directX problem. That you haven't got the needed verision, but that one is v5, and I supose everyone has got at LEAST that one.

Uhhhhh, got the screen flickering but thats minor.
The problem is my mouse doesn't seem to want to move, so I'm not sure how to cure that, otherwise, everything works fine.

Do not select "colour cursors" or game may fail to display anything after intro-movie. If screen flickers in-game (battle mode) then use Software rendering mode.
