16 colors in win2k pro

I recently reloaded win2k pro on a refurbished hard drive. The display settings will not allow for more than 16 colors no matter what screen resolution I choose. I need more than 16 colors. How can I fix this? John.

I'd start off by removing my vidcard drivers, then re-installing them.

I'd like to know what you mean by: "reloaded"? Did you mean "re-installed"?

No matter, anytime you swap a HDD, it's best to start from a fresh install, there's almost always(99.99% of the time) going to be conflicts if you don't.

If you're willing to risk the conflicts, try removing then re-installing your mobo drivers, then re-install your vidcard drivers.
