2462- After running MSCONFIG, the following problems occured

This is a discussion about 2462- After running MSCONFIG, the following problems occured in the Windows Hardware category; I ran MSCONFIG to have a look around. Afterwards, i rebooted, noting that for the first time it actually failed to turn off but did shut down windows. Previously it had worked fine. When it booted up again, i realised i had left it in Selective Startup with all options ticked.

I ran MSCONFIG to have a look around. Afterwards, i rebooted, noting that for the first time it actually failed to "turn off" but did shut down windows. Previously it had worked fine. When it booted up again, i realised i had left it in "Selective Startup" with all options ticked. So i set it back to normal, and rebooted when prompted.

No MATTER WHAT I DO, it is ALWAYS at selective, my computer can never fully rebot or shut-down, and MSCONFIG always runs at startup.

Please help me!

check the startup sections of the registry to take it out of there

HKCU
and
HKLM both have startup sections im not sure which one will have it in there but that is how to get MSConfig to not start everytime it is loaded
