3DFX + GeForce = GeForce FX ?? Hmmm

So, how many of you out there noticed the new (old) tag Nvidia is sporting? Looks like the last 3DFX project hybrid with GeForce technology. I can't wait to get this card. Opinions Please. . . . .

why would they do something as dumb as that? ;(

because it is going to be the same way anyways. they want faster GPU's as they needed faster CPU's.
why not just modify the product that is already there instead of building a totally new one !!! why not? that is going to be a revelution!

my question still stands if they wanted a fast cpu why would they use an overrated chipzilla chip?

CPU and GPUs are completely different architectures, and have different instruction sets, that's why.

Nah, It's an ATX. I can see the ports on the back of the case/board.

The missing I/O shield and the punch outs for the serial ports are what threw me... Thats what I get for staying up until 2:30AM..

Looks good to me! well... i'm crazy about heatsinks and fans as well, but i care alot about how it looks. i have rather to have an odd, but clean looking system. I like to see the thing closely.
if you clean the wires a little it will look real good!!!!

Sometimes you do have to do something about cooling in summer. It got pretty hot last summer and our A/C was broke and i had to change the FBS settings back down to it's original frequencies. (my p3 1.0 was runnig at 1.13GHz) I guess extra cooling for a summer like that doesn't heart.
