3dfx with Win XP

This is a discussion about 3dfx with Win XP in the Windows Hardware category; Having GLSetup errors when trying to play some new games with my voodoo 3 and i get these errors. Tried installing patches and updates from voodoofiles. com and nothing seems to work. Why?.

Did you get the WHQL files, or third party? I found with mine that the resolution gets mangled if I set it to 32bit colour then resize, but if I resize first then change the colours it works fine.

I couldn't get ANY OpenGL games running on my machine until I installed GlideXP (do a search, the site escapes me at the moment). At any rate it fixes some OpenGL issues as well (such as allowing me to actually RUN jDoom), and made Diablo II quit crashing when I alt-tabbed.
 
I'd suggest using the x3dfx community drivers from voodoofiles, those seem to be the most stable by far.
