3dmark99 max in win2k
This is a discussion about 3dmark99 max in win2k in the Windows Software category; nooooooooooooooo stupid 3dmark99max. anyway, when I try to run it,it tells me to install directx 6. 1, but i have directx8. 1 beta. is there any way to get past this??? note=this is when i START the program.

Why not just use 3DMark2000 or even better, 2001?
Uhh...I dont think 3dmark99max works in Win2k, according to the compatiability pages here.
Yeah, 3Dmark2000/2001 should be what your running. Just download it from Mad Oninion's web site. Duh!
Here's a little tip: All the programs that say they'll run under both Win98 AND NT4 will run under 2k. You could try the compatability program, but I dont think you'll be able to get it to work that way.
