70 Mbit networking !!??
This is a discussion about 70 Mbit networking !!?? in the Windows Networking category; I was transfering a folder that was 80 mb from my friend and it took like just 15 seconds and i was like shit! because our network-cards dont support 100mbit uploading, then we tested to transfer a folder that was 3.
I was transfering a folder that was 80 mb from my friend and it took like just 15 seconds and i was like shit! because our network-cards dont support 100mbit uploading, then we tested to transfer a folder that was 3.42 gb and it took 8 minutes that's 7 mb/s so how can this be possible ?

Both of our card's are 10/100 Mbit, but does not 10/100 mean 10 up and 100 down ? the hub is a router.
No, 10/100 means that it can either do 10mbit both ways or 100mbit both ways. So when a 10/100 card starts a connection, it looks to see what the other side of the cable is capable of. If both devices can do 100mbit, then you are cooking. Otherwise it will drop down to 10mbit for compatibility.
Im sure your router supports 10/100 as well
So by what CUViper has brought up, you and your friend are transferring data at 100Megabit .... more then likely even full duplex.
