Hi everyone,
First I want to precise that I'm french so I hope you'll excuse me if my English isn't perfect. So,after I've moved from win98se to win2000 pro everyhing 's running fine, all my applications,my games,....the only strange thing I've got is that when I clean the trash/bin/recycler(I don't know which one I should use)I've got a litte sound wich seems to come from the inside of my PC.I've try to
deactivate the system speaker in Windows but this little "beep" is still here. How can I cut it?

I´ve had that problem with whistler beta 1 and the problem was that when i had no sound on the trashbin a sound comes from the computer but when i enable a sound for the trashbin the sound from the computer goes away...........and also check all your sound properties because i had some trouble with them too and when i enable some and disable some the trashbin problem did goo away...
No prob. It should be pretty easy to identify the speaker connector to the mainboard. It's a 4-prone connection. For some reason like you said this only happens in Windows2000 and not Win98 or Win98SE. You could also hold the shift key then delete an item or items but then that would defeat the purpose of the bin I guess.
Yes, same thing here too, wacky stuff!
Ok, I usually just set it to the default "empty trash" wav file, it is not so loud sound effect. you can also try to just create a new text file and rename it to trash.wav and make it the empty recycle bin effect.
