Abit BX133-RAID, GeForce4 TI 4400 and HPT370
This is a discussion about Abit BX133-RAID, GeForce4 TI 4400 and HPT370 in the Windows Hardware category; Today I installed a Creative GeForce 4 TI 4400 video card on my Abit BX133-RAID motherboard. I have been using a Gainward GeForce 2 MX with no problems. When I turn on the PC with the new video card in place, I am no longer able to boot from the HPT370 controller.
Today I installed a Creative GeForce 4 TI 4400 video card on my Abit BX133-RAID motherboard.
I have been using a Gainward GeForce 2 MX with no problems.
When I turn on the PC with the new video card in place, I am no longer able to boot from the HPT370 controller.
In fact, the HPT370 boot screen does not display at all.
I am able to boot normally from the ATA33 IDE controller.
The HPT370 controller is not damaged in any way as far as I can tell, because if I put the old GeForce 2 MX in, everything is back to normal. Also, in Device Manager, no problems is reported on the HPT 370 controller when I am using the GeForce 4.
I have the latest bios for the motherboard.
Any advice ?

remove all the extra pci devices and reset the bios. Let it reassign the IRQ's then add each device 1 at a time

OK, will try that.
I'll let you know how it goes.
