Hi,
I recently purchased the 'ABIT Siluro GF4 MX-8X E 64MB' graphics card, which i have installed via the AGP slot on my motherboard.
Unfortunatly when i added the driver it made my system extemley unstable. (Explorer keeps crashing on start up unless i'm in 'VGA mode'.)
I downloaded the most recent driver for the card from ABit and updated the device driver, this seemed to make the system a bit more stable but still dodgy. Stupidly i then installed directX 9c to see if that would solve it. It didn't, it made it worse.
Has any one come across this problem before, or suggest a way forward ( this is a last effort before taking the card back to the shop!).
In summary, the card seems to work fine, but the unsigned driver from Abit seems to crash windows XP. What driver should i be using? or is it a problem with the card?
Cheers,
Nick
