Adaptec 2940U SCSI controller and Hibernation troubles

This is a discussion about Adaptec 2940U SCSI controller and Hibernation troubles in the Windows Hardware category; Since fitting a Adaptec 2940U SCSI controller, I am having trouble with the Win2k hibernation feature. What happens is that hibernation works OK 1 time, then when I try next time, it locks at the preparing to hibernate screen.

Since fitting a Adaptec 2940U SCSI controller, I am having trouble with the Win2k hibernation feature. What happens is that hibernation works OK 1 time, then when I try next time, it locks at the "preparing to hibernate" screen. I have to switch off at this point. When I next reboot, hibernation then works OK 1 more time...

All of my hardware (including the 2940) is on the MS Win2k HCL, and I have tried all SP revisions (no SP, SP1 and SP2). I have tried the default MS driver and also the Adaptec 1.00b driver.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi, have you got Nero's 5.5.1.8 on your PC by any chance as this seems to be a common theme with that particular version. I mayself have had to go back to 5.0.4.8, things work perfectly now....
