With the onboard ones, they gave me no issues. You could try Promise cards, those are good too.

The onboard Highpoint RAID allways seem to work well(last thing with I had with a Highpoint controller was a ABIT Slot A mainboard). I currently have a Promise Ultra 100 TX2 IDE controller. I have my Lite-on LTR-52246 connected to it. I works very well.

I am using 2 Promise cards, Ultra 100 TX2, and ulta 133 TX2. So far they have been great.
