I format once every 6 months or so just because im a neat freak and i do so with an image that i made that was a clean dual 2k\me boot. whats weird is every other time or so i end up haveing to redo it because for whatever reason in win2k after about 30 min my system starts going in slow mode. i bring up the task manager and in processes i see that system is taking up 100% cpu usage. so i end up formatting again with the same image and its fine. what on earth could this be?

In the Task Manager, click on the "Processes" tab, then click the top of the CPU column (this sorts the list by those apps that are using the most CPU time).

Which ones are at the top? Usually there are only 1 or 2 apps that end up taking 90%+ of the CPU time.

Once you know which processes are hogging the CPU, you can try and track down what your problems are being caused by.

Much easier than reinstalling every couple of weeks!!
