clutch, does Windows Update not detect what state IIS is in, and update it accordingly? or do you have to update it manually yourself?

That I don't know. I usually just check Technet every couple of days and see and see what's new. If I see something that I could use, then I'll get it.

Your worrying me clutch. I guess I'll have to download all the updates that seem applicable and install them.

I've finally got IIS 5 running sweet & NTFS-tight, thanks to Clutch..after SP2, the current state of IIS apparently does not get updated with the latest xx026 rollover update, unless done manually.
