"The Microsoft Exchange email scanner component of NAVCE does not officially support Outlook Express or POP3. However, email attachments are scanned when accessed, if NAVCE file system real-time protection is enabled.
The Email plug-in for NAVCE supports the following email clients:
Lotus Notes 4.5x, 4.6, and 5.0
Microsoft Outlook 97, Microsoft Outlook 98 (MAPI only, not Internet), and Microsoft Outlook 2000.
When NAVCE is running on a computer that is using Outlook Express and some other third party email applications, NAVCE can detect the components of a virus, such as the Vbs.loveletter worm, in the Inbox file. NAVCE either quarantines or deletes the Inbox file.
To prevent this issue, configure Norton Antivirus to exclude the Inbox file from real-time and manual scans."
Well.. this is what symantec say on this matter...
