This is a discussion about Application Error 0xc0000142 in the Windows Games category; I've been trying to run some driving simulation games (Colin McRae, Sports Car GT) on my computer and I keep getting this application error 0xc0000142 (Application failed to initialize correctly) or something to that effect.
I've been trying to run some driving simulation games (Colin McRae, Sports Car GT) on my computer and I keep getting this application error 0xc0000142 (Application failed to initialize correctly) or something to that effect. I have been able to run 1st person RPG's before and this is the first time I've had this problem.
I have Win 2K Professional. I installed SP2 without SP1. I do everything as the administrator since it is a home computer. The computer itself should be fine. PII-400, 128MB Ram.
If anyone has any idea why I'd be getting a message like this I'd like to hear it. Thanks in advance for any replies!
