Assigning printers to groups

This is a discussion about Assigning printers to groups in the Customization Tweaking category; What is the best way to assign a specific printer to a group of users or to a group of computers? I thought maybe the group policy editor would have an option, but I didn't see one. I have considered running a login script for those users (net use \\server\printer.

What is the best way to assign a specific printer to a group of users or to a group of computers? I thought maybe the group policy editor would have an option, but I didn't see one. I have considered running a login script for those users (net use \\server\printer...) but would rather not take that route. I am running an Active Directory domain with mainly Windows 2000 clients but considering a limited Windows XP upgrade. Thanks.

if you have the users setup in groups within your active directory you can assign the authorised users etc of any object or container within active directiory.
This goes for printers also if you have chosen to publish them in the active directory.

This would save you loooooooooooads of time 8)
