I installed the 1008 BIOS on my A7V motherboard, but after rebooting, the system wouldn't start. The screen was blank, and the PC speaker just went BEEP BEEP BEEP... I thought: S***... The BIOS hadn't been flashed properly. I should mention that I used the ASUS Update utility for Windows 2000 when flashing the BIOS. Anyway... I turned the computer on and off for a few times and all of the sudden (on the 5th or 6th attempt) it booted normally. However, when I wanted to reboot the computer again, the same problem arose! For some strange reason the computer would only boot if it had been turned off for some time (approximately 5 minutes). Anyone else experienced this? It all ended with me going back to BIOS revision 1007...!
