Asus CUSL2-C prob with win2k

I have just brought a CUSL2-C and a p3 866mhz f-pga(133mhz) cpu and I have win2k. everything runs on my abit lx6 but when I install the new motherboard and cpu win2 doesn't boot. It goes to a blue screen when loading (2nd loading screen, with the logo) and sasys something about there maybe a virus or uninstall any ...

then I put back my old motherboard and everything runs fine, whats the prob ?

The problem is down to the hard disk controllers.
 
I had the exact same problem when I went from an Intel 440BX2 to an Intel D815EEA.
 
The only way around it is a reinstall of Win2k so it can detect your new disk controllers.

u cant replace mother board and hope win2k to run .
 
when MB are replaced , also win2k have to be reinstall.

Go into your motherboard BIOS and set the boot order to boot from CD first.
All Windows 2000 CD's are bootable.
Boot from the CD and run the installation that way.

actually by booting using the cd you can click on 'repair windows' and that should do the trick. i did that in the past, but ended up doing a clean install since i wanted to have a clean os
