ATA 100 PCI card preformance is at ATA 33 levels
This is a discussion about ATA 100 PCI card preformance is at ATA 33 levels in the Windows Hardware category; I have a Maxtor (Promise) Aultra ATA 100 controller and I'm getting preformance no better than UDMA 33 (XP pro RC1 2505). I have a ATA 100 5400rpm drive on IDE1 of the card and a ATA 66 7200rpm drive on IDE2.

When I installed XP it detected my card as a Promise IDE controller and I thought maybe it was just bad Microsoft drivers, so I installed Maxtor's drivers and got the same results in tests under Sisoft sandra 2001te pro. I also noticed it when just copying files from one drive to the other. My next step is to try Promise's drivers, but I think it is maybe the OS.
I have an Abit BH6 (Intel BX) PIII 900Mhz 384mb ram.
I had great preformance in win2k and winXP is not going to well.
