ATA-100
I have a bp6, dual cellys 433 (not o/c), 384 MB Ram, the rest is not essential. I have 3 HD's in this machine 1 udma33 HD,1 ata66, and 1 ata100. The ata66 is on normal EIDE, as is the udma33 HD, a dvd, and a cdrom.

The BP6 only supports ata66, but this HD has been happily running .....until yesterday
I booted up and it took 45 mins to come up, reporting a bad block on bootup.
Files I had dl'd the night had crc erros.
I decided to clean down, and format .
Event Viewer:
The driver has detected that \devicescsi\HPT366I has old or out-of-date firmware. Reduced performance may result.
This leads me tyo believe that the hpt drivers are dodgy, so, I reinsdtalled them. No joy
Another thing, (don't know if its related, but all my fonts on webpages have gone large)
a) will running an ata100 @ ata66 ruin the HD?
Can anyone shed some light on the above?
Cheers
