Athlon XP on a board that only supports 200Mhz Athlon Thunde

This is a discussion about Athlon XP on a board that only supports 200Mhz Athlon Thunde in the Slack Space category; I need to check my Athlon XP 1700+ CPU to make sure that it hasnt burnt out or anything when my ASUS Board went on me. I have a Gigabyte 71XE4 that only supports 200Mhz Athlon Thunderbirds and was wondering if the baord would boot to bios or anything with the Athlon XP in so i can check that it still works? Thanx guyz.

Best answer is "maybe". If you have the BIOS for it that supports the Morgan core Duron's, you might be able to. Otherwise, I don't know. I would check AMDMB to be sure.
