ATI makes beta XP drivers

This is a discussion about ATI makes beta XP drivers in the Windows Hardware category; I just saw on the front page ATI has made specific XP drivers not 2000 drivers, do you guys think other compaines will start following this trend or will they wait until the OS hits RCs if not RTM stage before making drivers??

I expect most companies will follow suit.
Before Win2k went gold, Matrox were very good with drivers and released some specifically for the beta builds.
It's a good plan really, get the WinXP drivers out there so users can find the problems and report them, by the time WinXP is available in mass they should have some very good performing / stable drivers about.

I fully expect to see many more "beta" level drivers as XP gets closer to final release... As 2000 came around, there were many more drivers towards the end, especially for RC2, so I think the same thing will happen here. I have seen some rather disappointing news for some of the smaller motherboard makers though, stating they won't get around to legacy motherboard support until after XP comes out.... At least Asus, Abit, and Gigabyte are all on the right page...

As for the GeForce drivers... I'm happy with 12.00, so I don't see any need for Nvida to rush out XP drivers right now.....
