hi all, sorry to trouble you but im having a problem with my graphics at the moment and im rather hoping that someone can give me some advice/help.
My system is currently running Xp,256ram with ATI radeon 128mbse gold edition graphics card.
I've been trying to update my drivers to the most recent set but i keep getting crashing problems when i do so.
I am uninstalling the old drivers first obviously, and then installing the new ones.everything seems to install o.k. and then it asks me to reboot,i do so and when the system loads up it crashes as soon as the ATI display icon tries to open (the screen turns to lines the same colour as my desktop)
I reboot but do it in safe mode and then restart again which works, until i try to play Call of duty, when i play this it loads up o.k. plays for about 1 minute and then the graphics recover part kicks in for some unknown reason (it says something like the graphics card isn't responding properly to signals).
some more information is that the dxdiag direct 3d test doesn't work with my old drivers as the rotating box stays still through test 7+8+9.but it works o.k. with the new drivers though it crashes call of duty.
on my device manager it shows up two cards in the display adapters the main graphics (ati radeon 128) and also a radeon 9200 series - secondary <----------------is that meant to be there?
sorry but im confused is it the secondary device (which may or may not meant to be there) causing the problem?
