This is a discussion about Automatic Login under XP? in the Customization Tweaking category; How can I have windows XP login automatically to a specific account? For example,if I wish to log in to account say user automatically after i restart my computer? Someone please help!

Try this -
1. At the command prompt type: rundll32 netplwiz.dll,UsersRunDll
2. In the User Accounts dialog that appears, clear the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" check box and click OK
3. Enter the user name and password of the account you want to automatically want to log on.
Have fun
Please note: This will not work if you are joinrd to a Domain.

Get TweakUI and use the Logon tab. works perfectly every time

Very cool, BUT is there a way to do it within windows (the OS) itself?

I've stumbled accoss it before but now i cant remember how i got there.
