Bad performance SCSI Burning

I'm having really bad performance when burning CD's under windows XP. I'm only able to burn at 8x speed from hardisk to CDR. And 4x speed from DVD to CDR. My system: Adaptec 29160 Scsi Card. Abit KT7A-Raid, with latest bios.

I'm having really bad performance when burning CD's under windows XP.
I'm only able to burn at 8x speed from hardisk to CDR. And 4x speed from DVD to CDR.

My system:
Adaptec 29160 Scsi Card.
Abit KT7A-Raid, with latest bios.
Scsi Yamaha CDRW 16x, 10x, 40x
Scsi DVD pioner. 10x, 40x.
2 SCSI disk's 160MB.
Roxio 5.0 Platinum installed with XP patch.
My ASPI files has these versions: 4.57 (1008) (Think roxio installed it ?)
Also updated som burner stuff through windows update.
Scsi card uses the default xp drivers.

During system test in roxio i get 10x speed on large files and 8x speed on small files.
Both my DVD and burner..
My scsi disk's gets rated as 146x.
Using sandra sisoft to benchmark my scsi disk, it get's rated below a UATA66 7200rpm....

Using Sandra SISoft to test CD/DVD performance i get 11x read ????
And avg. access time 129ms ?

I have no idea what's causing this, but in win2k i was able to burn at 16x speed from harddisk,
and 12x speed from my DVD.

ADAPTEC says aspi is not supported in ME,2000 or XP.
So does roxio use and old technology ?
Are they supposed to use another interface or something ? What interface ?
Does every CD recording software out there use ASPI ?

Anyone has any ideas ??
Is anyone at all able to burn at 16x speed with a 29160 scsi card ?

I have had some trouble as well .. check your event log for CD errors, relating to paging errors, you should find multiple entries. I suspect the problem is with the Roxio software shipped with XP to give basic burning capabilities.
